Role Overview
About the Role
ISCIA is seeking a motivated and organised Community Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the Alliance and help grow our global community of soil carbon practitioners, scientists, and market participants.
This is a part-time, remote-friendly contract role suited to someone with a background in sustainability, agriculture, or environmental policy who is passionate about the role of soil carbon in addressing climate change.
The Community Manager will work closely with the ISCIA Secretariat and Board to coordinate member communications, support events and webinars, manage social media presence, and assist with policy and research activities.
Key Responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Manage member communications including newsletters, announcements, and meeting coordination
- Coordinate and support ISCIA webinars, working group meetings, and events
- Maintain and grow ISCIA's LinkedIn presence and other communications channels
- Support the development and dissemination of policy positions, reports, and publications
- Assist with onboarding new members and maintaining the member directory
- Liaise with committee chairs and working group leads to track deliverables and deadlines
- Contribute to grant writing and funding applications as needed
Qualifications
Who We're Looking For
- Background in sustainability, environmental science, agriculture, or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience managing communities, associations, or stakeholder networks
- Familiarity with soil carbon, carbon markets, or climate policy is a strong asset
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, distributed team environment
- Proficiency with common collaboration tools (email, video conferencing, shared documents)
